Job title: Control Vision Engineer CO-OP / STUDENT

Summary/Objective: Layout, build, and wire electrical control panels. Field wire electrical and pneumatic systems on automated machines. Eventually learn to design and program controls for automated machinery.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Build electrical control panels for automated machines.
- Wire electrical components and systems on automated machines.
- Connect and plumb pneumatic components.
- Learn how to debug, design and program controls for automated machinery.
- Ability to learn and work under Senior Controls Engineers.
- Markup electrical schematics with corrections.
- Startup, debug, and qualify automated machines.
- support controls install/upgrade on new and existing automated equipment.
- Support production by troubleshooting and repairing automated controls.
- Troubleshoot, provide root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for reported issues on local production systems and tools.
- Work with operations and process engineering groups to design scalable control systems.
- Reprogram existing automated machines for improvements and optimization.
- Make program and hardware modifications/updates on automated control systems
- Research and specify electrical and pneumatic control components.

Required Experience:
- Ability to read basic electrical schematics and CAD drawing/Print
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills (English)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team and proactive attitude
- Strong analytical skill; problem solving mindset and willing to work on shopfloor
- Ability to use MS Office Suite, and general computer literacy.
- Demonstration of flexibility, innovation, customer service, and ability to create win/win solutions.
- Operational knowledge of control relays, pneumatic solenoids, pneumatic controls, motion controllers, servomotors, stepper motors, etc.
- Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Image processing systems
- PLC programming and Operator Interface programming experience.
- Industrial Robotics programming experience
- Ability to implement and debug various commonly used industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus, IO-Link, OPC-UA, etc.).
- Ability to read and write other common programming languages (Basic, C++, C#, Java, Python, etc...).
- Familiarity accessing databases using SQL Server Management Studio, Linqpad, or similar utility. Experience with database architecture and design a plus.
Education:
- 4th year student pursuing Bachelor degree of Electrical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering Technology/ Mechatronic or related field
Training required:
- On the job training as appropriate.
